Every line is run by a handful of people with direct ownership of the outcome. We would rather add a business than add a layer.

We write the software, hold the supplier relationships, and answer the phone. Nothing important is rented from a platform that can change its terms.

We fund growth out of what the businesses earn. That rules out a lot of fast moves and rules in the ones that compound.
